Dad and I finally got most of the panels cut out today with a dremel and sanded them down.
I just placed them anywhere to see what they would look like on the dome.
Dad did a good job on those, it's looks great and I haven't even painted it yet!
The last picture is what the dremel did to the extra C&D styrene dome we bought for the panels.

This build of yours is actually the coolest project I've seen in a while. Too many of us have the "traditional" artoo's. Yours is very different....in a great way.

Thomas, that's actually one of the reasons I decided to build this droid, because he was different and I liked his design.
I actually had no intention at all to build a robot until I saw R3's action figure on the wall in my mom's room.
But I may not be doing much at all this week. A relative just passed away today.
